Home Projects

Ok, I'm not confident in my decorating skills, but I wanted to show you what me and Tyler have been up to the past few weeks, trying to make our house a little more "homey" (if you will). It's been so much fun, brightening up our house just a bit--we're loving the white trend right now ;)

Been sewing:
slipcover

pillow

pillow

This is for you, Jenny--

Dish-dry mat!

Tyler's done an awesome job painting our new coffee table that we almost chunked in Erie. I'm so glad we didn't because it's so much cuter in white (well Soft Chamois at Benjamin Moore).

And we're working on finishing up painting two sets of kid's tables and chairs and an old army trunk that we're going to use as a side table. Here's a sneak preview of one of the chairs...

Recovered Adah's carseat-- The fabric used to be well, not so girly--- I decided to girlify it :)

And I just finished up the roman shades for our room, that is not really that decorated yet...we're getting there.

So all in all, we're just chunking away at some fun little projects around our home, trying to make do with all the Lord has been so wonderful to bless us with :)

P.S. THANK YOU SO MUCH, Jenny for the extra fabric you gave me. It's helped me create so much of what I've made for our home.

Ash, your house is beautiful! I love the levels of creams, so soothing. What I love the most is that you took what you had and made it something new and fresh! The next time you sew something, put it as a tutorial, I would love to learn how to do some of these projects!

I work for a King.

I work for a King. He has put me in charge of His home. When He comes to see how I have managed His possessions and His children, I do not want to be found wanting. I want to do my best. Everything I have is on loan from Him. I have room and board and a job to do, but it is all for Him.
Therefore I want to dress my best, and do my best in all my work. I also want to be creative, for this is a sincere attempt to glorify Him and His beautiful creation. How I manage my home is a form of worship to Him.
