Cloth Diapering Extras
If you missed my post a few weeks ago about cloth diapering, you might want to start here first. For those who wanted to know a little more about my experiences with cloth diapering, here are a few more details:
I started out with 12 Bumgenius One Size diapers with Lyla.
I started out with 4 Baby G covers and 12 cloth inserts for Adah.
When Lyla was an infant, I went through about 10-12 diapers a day, and then used less and less as she's got older, each day.
With Adah, I have probably more covers (4) than I truly need and a good amount of inserts (12) to get me through a day or more right now. (Adah is 3 months)
I wash diapers every night after I put the chillens down-- I don't like the smell of dirty diapers ruling the bathroom :)
I have used Allen's Naturally detergent for more than a year and a half. It does a great job getting stains out, but it's odor free which I find leaves the diaper still faintly smelling like, well, a diaper.
I have started using ECOS from Sam's Club-- it's all natural and has a faint lavender smell-- I'm totally loving this detergent so far. I don't notice build up and it does a good job at getting out stains.
I wash my diapers on hot/cold and I dry on speed dry on the hottest setting to seal the PUL fabric on the Bumgenius.
If I could do it all over again and had to choose between Bumgenius and G Diapers, I would choose Bumgenius...HOWEVER, in a perfect world I would have bought the Bumgenius SIZED diapers, not the one size because up until about 1 year old, the Bumgenius add bulk when you're putting your child in certain pants/shorts. Bumgenius just stay dry for longer....

I work for a King.
I work for a King. He has put me in charge of His home. When He comes to see how I have managed His possessions and His children, I do not want to be found wanting. I want to do my best. Everything I have is on loan from Him. I have room and board and a job to do, but it is all for Him.
Therefore I want to dress my best, and do my best in all my work. I also want to be creative, for this is a sincere attempt to glorify Him and His beautiful creation. How I manage my home is a form of worship to Him.
