Mr. Sun...Sun...Mr. Golden Sun, Please Shine Down on Me!!

Yay, I'm happy to report that we seem to be experiencing the beginning of spring. The snow is melting, like seriously melting. I still don't understand how we had months of feet of snow and yet, as the sun melts the snow, green grass is poking out underneath. Was the grass green the whole time? It's a joy to see the sun again, to have the ability to actually keep the back door propped open so we can feel some fresh air in this house. Erie winters are pretty stuffy, and pretty dreary. Don't get me wrong, the freshly fallen snow is beautiful, but I never appreciated the sun until we moved up here.

With the spring comes chipmunks and for those of you who have dogs, maybe you can sympothize.
This little critter has been antagonizing poor Destin all morning long. I started to get worried about the chipmunk because as Destin was barking at it for a good 5 minutes straight, it just layed there in the grass, almost stunned in fear...or maybe he was sunbathing. I got Tyler to come down and take a look at the little chipmunk to make sure he wasn't hurt, but Tyler told me that he's been hibernating all winter long, and maybe it's just taking him a while to wake up. Sleepy little chipmunk :) He ended up being okay because later in the afternoon, he was gone. I think he was just playing games with Destin.

Lyla is doing wonderful. Talking, playing, rolling, drooling... Here's a few pictures I snapped of her today. (Thanks to Bumpa and Grandma Edna for the adorable outfit!!!)

I work for a King.

I work for a King. He has put me in charge of His home. When He comes to see how I have managed His possessions and His children, I do not want to be found wanting. I want to do my best. Everything I have is on loan from Him. I have room and board and a job to do, but it is all for Him.
Therefore I want to dress my best, and do my best in all my work. I also want to be creative, for this is a sincere attempt to glorify Him and His beautiful creation. How I manage my home is a form of worship to Him.
